Mystery #4

   Another Father X Possiblity

Mystery #3

"Joseph Roberts of North Carolina settled on Mine Lick around 1790, on what is now known as the Gale Herren farm."

Could Joseph have been the father of John (see Mystery #1 below)?

Mystery #2

Glen Roberts has indicated that he received information that Rebecca, who married our last link John Roberts, was a Hatfield. However, this possibility has not yielded any further information or clues that would help us to extend our ancestry tree. Where was she born? Where were they married? Who were her parents?

Mystery #1

Father X Suspects:

#1 The 1830 census records list a Solomon Roberts residing in northeast Putnam County. He is between 50 and 60 years of age. There is a male between 20 and 30 years of age in that household (John would be 23 years old). The 1840 census (OV-43) lists Solomon Roberts in Overton County between the age of 80 and 90 with a female between 20 and 30 years of age. John Roberts is listed (OV-41) age 30-40, along with Gabrial A. Roberts (OV-42) age 50-60, Gabrial Roberts(OV-26) age 40-50.

The riddle: Could John Roberts be the male member of the Solomon Roberts household in 1830 (possibly his son) and a brother to Gabrial Roberts? Since Gabrial A. Roberts is 20 years younger than Gabrial Roberts, I take that this would be father and son.

Jack Roberts, however, says he has seen a list of Solomon Roberts' children and there is no son John listed. Could John have been born after the list was complied?
